    Preparing

Hello Skalda, we honestly don't expect you to have any specific builds prepared. The only important thing to keep in mind is, that your build should fulfill the role you sign up for. What that means is that if you for example sign up to a raid as a damage dealer (DPS), your build should be designed to primarily do damage and you should aim to mostly have gear with stats that would help with that (for example Berserker or Viper stats depending on your damage type). Otherwise, what skills and traits people choose can be very personal and depends a lot on your playstyle. If you join our raids, feel free to experiment with your skills and traits to find out what works best for you. Note: Increasing your survivability by adding toughness/vitality stats or taking traits is generally not necessary, as we have dedicated healers/supporters focused on keeping you alive, while a lot of incoming damage can be avoided by for example dodging or generally dealing with the mechanics of an encounter. Personally I like to experiment with my builds and sometimes share and discuss them with my friends through the Guild Wars 2 Build Editor. I am sure it's not everybody's thing, but I believe it is worth looking at it at least. Feel free to share your build as well, maybe to get some feedback, should you decide to come up with your own! If you don't know how to come up with your own build or don't want to, you can look at for example the Snow Crows website to get a general idea of how raid builds look, but should keep in mind that their builds are designed for speed clearing and this amount of optimization is not necessary, if you just want to enjoy raiding with friends for the fun of it, and certainly not required by us. You can check out their Elementalist builds here, and their Thief builds here. You can also look through their guide section, as they give some hints on how to deal with specific situations that can be quite helpful. I hope to see you in a raid soon! Cheers, Viridian

Open Raid for Pink Day in LA!

Viridian.6015 Join us in the fight against breast cancer!
  4. On October 20th Gamers Giving Back will host the annual Pink Day in LA and we wish to support them by raising gold in Guild Wars 2, which will be used to buy prizes you can win by participating in the events on October 20th. We'd like to ask participants of this raid to donate the gold reward everyone gets from clearing an encounter to Gamers Giving Back. Please show your support and join us! As we want to raise as much gold as possible, the goal of this event is to get as many participants as possible some cleared encounters Other than we normally do this, we won't form groups ahead of time, but try to see what participants need when they join. We'll keep everyone informed of which encounters are planned next through Discord, so if you need whatever will be done, just join us on TeamSpeak and we'll see what we can do. You don't need to be terribly experienced to participate and even if you aren't sure whether you feel up to trying to join an actual raid, you can still come to TS and listen in or ask any questions you have about raiding. We'd still like you to sign up to this event, so that we have an idea of how many of you are interested. So show your support and sign up! Remarks: The raid starts at 17:00 CEST. If you have any questions before the raid, you can send me a private message or contact me via Discord!
  5. As always during our Monday Kill Run, the goal of this raid is to clear as many encounters as possible within the time available to us. This means, depending on how the raid progresses, we might skip some bosses in the first round and revisit them on the second round. In any case, we'll only give each encounter a couple of tries and then move on, in order to avoid getting stuck somewhere. When signing up, please list any alternative professions/roles you can fill. If you are required to switch characters between encounters, please make sure to have those ready to go. We will tell you which of your characters you will need when we confirm your signup. This raid is for experienced raiders! If you feel like you aren't experienced enough, but wish to support Gamers Giving Back and Pink Day in LA, there will be a second event you can join on Saturday, October 6th! Check it out here! Remarks: The raid starts at 19:30 CEST. If you have any questions before the raid, you can send me a private message or contact me via Discord!

    "All We Can Kill" Run

Viridian.6015 Tempest Healer or Druid Healer
  7. In this raid we will try to clear as many encounters within the available time as possible. This means, we will give each encounter only a couple of tries and then move on in the first round and revisit them on the second round, in order to avoid getting stuck somewhere. We do not expect to be able to beat all encounters on the first attempt. So even if this is a kill run, please bring some patience! When signing up, please list any alternative professions/roles you can fill. If you are required to switch characters between encounters, please make sure to have those ready to go. We will tell you which of your characters you will need when we confirm your signup. The order in which we will try to clear: Bastion of the Penitent Stronghold of the Faithful Salvation Pass Spirit Vale On most encounters we will need: 2 Chronomancers for Quickness/Alacrity 1 Standard Bearer for Empower Allies/Banners 2 Healers (one Harrier Druid for Might/Spirits/Spotter) any DPS Remarks: The raid starts at 19:30 CEST. If you have any questions before the raid, you can send me a private message or contact me via Discord!

    Raid Introduction: Vale Guardian

    Viridian.6015 Firebrand Quickness DPS
  9. If you have never raided before, this is a good place to start at We'll try to familiarize ourselves with the mechanics of the first raid encounter, the Vale Guardian. Since this is an introduction we cannot promise that we will clear the encounter, but we will at least be able to provide some insight into what type of content to expect in raids. You don't need any prior experience with raids or the Vale Guardian to join! All mechanics will be explained during the raid. Important! Vale Guardian will follow the person with the highest toughness (the tank). The toughness of our tanks is usually around 1,400. If you have higher toughness than that and can absolutely not lower it, make sure to include that in your signup, so that our tank can prepare to increase their own toughness! Masteries: Blazing Speed Mushrooms can be helpful, but is not required. We will need: 1-2 Chronomancers for Quickness/Alacrity (not necessarily a tank) 1 Standard Bearer for Empower Allies/Banners 1 Harrier Druid for Might/Spirits/Spotter 1 Healer 1-2 Condition DPS any DPS Remarks: The raid starts at 19:00 CEST. We only take experienced tanks to our introductions to ensure that the group will get to see and practice as many of the phases and mechanics as possible. If you are interested in learning to tank, please contact a member of the Raid Team and we will see what we can do, but this is unfortunately not the right place for it. If you have any questions before the raid, you can send me a private message or contact me via Discord!

    "All We Can Kill" Run

    Viridian.6015 Tempest or Druid Healer
  12. We would like to give anyone interested in kiting Soul Feast - the "Pink Hands" - the possibility to try it out, so in this training, anyone that wants to can take turns at kiting. Should Deimos accidentally die, we'll open it again and let the next kiter try. Anyone that wants to help provide new kiters the possibility to gather their first kiting experience is more than welcome to sign up. Please note in your signup whether you'd want to try kiting or just want to help out We will need: The usual group setup, more or less. As we want to just give our kiters the possibility to learn, it doesn't need to be perfect, as long as we get to train the kiting. So in addition to the kiter we will aim for: 2 Chronomancers for Quickness/Alacrity (and Well of Precognition) 1 Standard Bearer for Banners/Empower Allies 1 Harrier Druid for Might/Spirits/Spotter 1 additional Healer any ranged DPS When signing up, please let us know which professions you can switch to, so that we can have a reasonable composition even when switching the kiter! Remarks: The raid starts at 19:30 CEST. If you have any questions before the raid, you can send me a private message or contact me via Discord!

    Sabetha the Saboteur

    Viridian.6015 Tempest Healer
  15. We'll try to familiarize ourselves with the mechanics of the final encounter in Spirit Vale, Sabetha the Saboteur. Since this is an introduction we cannot promise that we will clear the encounter, but we will at least be able to provide an overview of the mechanics and the opportunity to practice You don't need any prior experience with Sabetha to join. All mechanics will be explained during the raid. The introduction is primarily aimed at raiders, who have never tried this encounter before, but more experienced players are welcome as well I would not recommend this encounter, if you haven't already gathered some raid experience! Masteries: Updraft Use or Lean Techniques is required for damage dealers, but not for supporters/healers. Explosive Launch is useful for damage dealers, but not for supporters/healers and is not required. Rift Forger is useful, but not required.
