You can use the ogre one (1g each atm) or the eagle one wich gives you a 6% dps increase on targets under 50%hp. But the oggre gives you a cute pet :3

Yeah I was actually just about to add that. :D Ogre is indeed probably the best "cheaper" alternative atm. Sadly there aren't many variables. :I

  2. Good and clean guide. A few things worth mentioning though. :)

Necromantic Corruption transfers the minions from you to the minions

I think you mean conditions from you to the minions. :D

The combo of Blood is Power and Corrupt Boon puts 4 bleed stacks, 2 torment stacks and 1 stack of poison per minion. so if you have 10 minions that equals 40 stack of bleed just from minions alone.

This is sadly not how it works. The Minions steal 1 condition from you every 10 seconds, from you to one of your minions (not one condition to all of them, or not even one condition each, literally just 1 condition from you, to one of your minions every 10 seconds), AND every 10 seconds, each of  the minions puts whatever condition is on them, to the mob. This practically means that when you use Blood is Power and Corrupt Boon, after 10 seconds the minions take 1 of those self-conditions off you, but you'll keep the rest on you, unless you use a skill such as Deathly Swarm (4) to transfer 3 conditions yourself.

You still overcap 10% on Bleed and Chill duration, just from Viper's gear + runes + Malice + the two traits that give +20% bleed and chill duration, respectively (not Lingering Curse)

Also as Nag pointed out, you do indeed go over-cap with condition duration ^

As I said somewhere before though, we're more together than we are just on our own, we learn and grow. Good job Ipos!

  3. This is the PvE Condition damage spec for Necromancers and requires the Reaper specialization. This build is valid also in the current Raid content.

    Equipment

Full Viper's gear (Power/Condition Damage/Precision/Expertise), ascended stat combination name is [Yassith's.. ], except Backpiece

You can craft Exotic Viper's Rings/Accessories/Necklace if you can't get ascended ones.

Rampager's Backpiece (the easiest to obtain, if you can get your hands on Sinister, it's better - Bloodstone Fen / Ember bay or Raids)

    Viper's Scepter (main-hand), Viper's Dagger (off-hand)

For offset: is pretty meaningless, you can use anything depending on what you need, for example Warhorn (for CC), Staff (for very minor dps increase with pre-combat mark-casting / for AoE Fear)

    Runes / Sigils

Armor: [Superior Rune of the Berserker] x6

Weapons: [Superior Sigil of Malice] & [Superior Sigil of Earth] or [Superior Sigil of Geomancy] (if you use Geomancy, you want to be swapping weapons at least every 20 seconds - Put your scepter & dagger in different sets)

The cheaper alternative Gear setups (not significantly worse in DPS):

If you don't want to craft the Exotic Viper's Accessories and Rings, you can instead go with ascended Sinister rings and accessories (obtained from Living story achievements) -> You'll then need to cap your condition duration with your runes, so you should go with [Superior rune of the Nightmare] x5 & 1x [Black Diamond]

If you use ascended Sinister's accessories and rings, you can use [Superior Sigil of Earth] and [Superior Sigil of Bursting] / [Superior Sigil of Geomancy]. If you want to use these, you should go with [Superior Rune of the Nightmare] x4 & [Superior Rune of the Trapper] x2. (The budget-est version.)

    Traits two options:

    1. Death Magic - If you kill something at least once in 30 seconds

    condireapertrait2.png

1st line: Curses: Chilling Darkness, Master of Corruption, Lingering Curse

2nd line: Death Magic: Flesh of the Master, Necromantic Corruption, Death Nova

3rd line: Reaper : Chilling Nova, Decimate Defenses, Deathly Chill

This trait setup is better in a situations where you kill a lot of enemies (an enemy ~once every 10-30 seconds). For example on Sabetha, since she spawns a lot of adds -> you will spawn a lot of Jagged Horrors with Death Nova -trait. This might be also better in open world content, where you tend to kill a lot of enemies (event spawns for example).

    2. Blood Magic - Fights where you don't kill things frequently (for example Veil Guardian)

    condireapertrait1.png

1st line: Curses: Chilling Darkness, Master of Corruption, Lingering Curse

2nd line: Blood Magic: Quickening Thirst, Vampiric Presence, Transfusion

( Ritual of Life as first trait if you need to resurrect people )

3rd line: Reaper : Chilling Nova, Decimate Defenses, Deathly Chill

    Utility Skills

    CondiNecroSkills.png

Healing Skill (6): Signet of Vampirism or Blood Fiend. Situationally: Consume Conditions

Open Utility Skills (7,8,9): Epidemic, Corrosive Poison Cloud, Blood is Power. Situationally (if you don't need Epidemic): Corrupt Boon (more conditions), "Suffer!" (Condition transfer), "Rise!" (Damage reduction), Plague signet (Condition transfer)

Elite Skill: Lich Form. Situationally: Flesh Golem (for single target CC), "Chilled to the Bone!" (for AoE CC)

    Food & Consumables

Rare Veggie Pizza or Koi Cake (+70 Condition damage, +20 % Condition duration), Super Veggie Pizza (budget food)

Toxic Focusing Crystal (+100 Condition damage, +10 % Condition duration)

On condition builds consumables give you significant amount of Condition Duration, making them very important. (You can check Sithicus' Condition Warrior build for more info on consumables.)

    Practice

    • Start with Lich Form (elite) > Use Mark of Horror (4, spawning 5 Jagged Horrors) > Exit Lich Form
    • Blood is Power (utility) > Deathly Swarm (4) -- Use this combo when both of them are off cooldown, never use them separately!
    • Enter Reaper's Shroud (F1) > Use Executioner's Scythe (5, an ice field) > Soul Spiral (4, combo finisher: whirl) on the ice field > Exit Reaper's Shroud (F1) -- When you spin in the ice field, you shoot out chilling projectiles that leave a long chill. If you Death's charge to leap through the ice field, you will gain Frost Armor (you take 10% less damage and anything that hits you gets chilled) and the Death's Charge (Reaper's shroud 2) blinds and because you have Chilling Blindness from traits, blinding also chills.
    • Use Grasping Dead (2), Feast of Corruption (3), Enfeebling Blood (5), Corrosive Poison Cloud (utility) on cooldown -- You want to use Feast of corruption (3) when the enemy has a lot of conditions on them.
    • Use Epidemic (utility) when you have as many conditions on your target as possible, and have multiple enemies nearby (maximum of 5) -- Due to the fact that conditions transferred by Epidemic are scaled by your Condition Damage, it is the underlined strength of this build.
    • When everything is on cooldown, your Scepter's auto-attack is good for inflicting long conditions (bleed and poison).

In this build there's no actual "skill rotation", but it is based on Skill priority of the combo's mentioned above:

Lich Form >  Blood is Power + Deadly Swarm -combo > Reaper's Shroud -combo > Rest of your cooldowns > Auto-attack

Hope this was useful for you! And thanks to Akke.8502 for providing pictures and information! :) You can also contact him in-game for any questions about this spec.

any sugestions for the strength rune replacement ? Revenant is not my main and don't want to invest a lot of gold in it...

Well basically you can also go with Scholars (but as a melee you'll struggle more with the issue of staying above 90% hp), and they are somewhat ok, however the price of Strength runes is going down too. Nowadays sets like Hoelbrak's are not that awesome since they don't give you the damage bonus (+5%).

  5. I've only tested this in Fractals and Raids. Basically what I've concluded that you're either above 90% of hp or dead because of your really small hp pool. :D Especially on raids with a dedicated Druid healer, his heals basically pop you from 20% to 100%. Also since this is a full on ranged build, you want to stay on range, however so that if you have a guardian for example, you'll still get the protection and other boons. No other tricks in my book for this.

Also the screenshot may very well be taken in air, I can't remember. I can check that later today. :) Edit: Yes the picture was indeed taken in Air, which gives you 190 more Precision due to the Aeromancer's Training trait.

  6. Really nice and thorough Guide! :) I agree on the importance of Boon Duration, however in most content nowadays (yet, we'll see what the new Raid wing brings), maxing it to +100% isn't a total necessity, but obviously nice nevertheless.

Cheers for also adding the Tankin' variable! I might actually want look into that a bit myself. :3

Edit: Bf also thinks the guide is really awesome, and disagrees with my lack of perfectionism on the boon duration. :D

  7. Since the damage nerf to Overload Air, this build is no longer a valid option for Raids, since the Staff build is just overall always better. This build requires the Tempest specialization.

    Equipment

Full Berserker's gear (Power/Precision/Ferocity), ascended stat combination name is [Zojja's.. ]

Berserker's accessories, rings, neck and backpiece

    Berserker's Dagger (main-hand) & Berserker's Warhorn (off-hand)

    Runes / Sigils

Armor: [Superior Rune of Scholar] x6

Weapons: [Superior Sigil of Force] & [Superior Sigil of Air] (Doesn't matter which one to off-hand, which to main)

    Traits

    DaggerhornTempestTraits.png

1st line: Fire: Burning Precision , Pyromancer's Training , Persisting Flames

2nd line: Air: Ferocious Winds , Aeromancer's Training , Fresh Air

3rd line: Tempest: Unstable Conduit , Harmonious Conduit , Elemental Bastion

(As you may notice, the only difference to the Staff-Build, is changing the last trait in Air to Fresh Air)

    Utility Skills

    DaggerhornTempestUtiAir.png

Healing Skill (6): "Wash the Pain Away!",  Open Utility Skills (7,8,9): "Feel the Burn!", Glyph of Storms, Signet of Fire. Situationally you might want to use Conjure Frost Bow (For Crowd control, damage on big targets or Triple Trouble event), Conjure Lightning Hammer (Triple Trouble) or Lightning Flash (for mobility)

Elite Skill: Glyph of Elementals (for normal DPS rotation) or Conjure Fiery Greatsword (for mobility).

    Practice

    1. Begin the combat in Air (F2), so that you have Air Overload ready. While running to your target, cast Glyph of Storms (Lightning Storm)

    2. Once near the target Overload in Air (F3) and Shout "Feel the burn" (utility, doesn't interrupt your cast so use it while channeling Overload)

    3. Lighting orb (5)

    4. Switch to Fire (F1) > Glyph of Elementals (if available) > Burning Speed (3) > Wildfire (5, off cooldown every second time you switch to Fire)

    5. Switch back to Air (F3), Overload Air > Lightning Orb (5) > Lightning Whip (Auto-attack 1) until Fire (F1) comes off cooldown

-> Repeat steps 4-5 until the end of time. Use "Feel the Burn!", Glyph of Storms (Air) and Glyph of Elementals (Fire) whenever on cooldown.

Hint! Keep "Feel the Burn!" always on cooldown, it's a shout so it doesn't interrupt your casts (Even Overloads). You can also cast it in Fire if it happens to be off cooldown. Whenever switching to Fire, you only want to use 3 and 5 quickly (and Glyph of Elementals if off cd), then just quickly switch back to Air. Your Air skills deal more damage.

Hope this was useful for you! Feel free to ask any questions. :)

  8. Finally had the time to go through this with bf. :D Overall very well done, clear and understandable guide.

    Only one major thing we would add/change;

The sigil/rune choises. On sigils we would suggest Malice (10% condi duration) and Bursting (6% condi damage) -> this allows you to get rid of the Superior Runes of Nightmare and instead you can run with 6x Superior Runes of the Berserker. This gives you more damage modifiers (just plain more damage) which make the Berserker runes currently the best for all condi classes as long as you can cap your Condition Duration with your gear. You can do this by adding Viper jewelry (the amulet for example is attainable from achievements), and as a Warrior, 1 is enough.

    A few minor notes;

On 5.2.2016 at 11:48 AM, Sithicus said:

Tier 2 choices are also quite limited. Destruction of the Empowered isn't super since you're running condition damage, you have some power and crit though, so it's the best of the bunch.

Here (on the Discipline traits) we would add the option of taking the Inspiring Battle Standard instead, which adds the regeneration to your banners, for party support.

Also on your rotation there's just a misspell on

I think you mean Signet of Fury. ;)

But as said, very well done!

  9. Welcome to the forums Vidarr! I take coherent as a compliment, however since we are a collaboration of very different people from different countries and cultures, we do get into heated up conversations sometimes too (not that it doesn't mean we wouldn't be coherent, I think hearing and allowing different kinds of opinions is what defines us too). ;) Anyway, really glad to hear you've found what you were looking for in the OpenCommunity. :)

  10. Welcome to the Forums Stella! :) And indeed no worries about not being that active - you seem to have a LOT of going on even without GW2. :D You can hop on events / TS, or just scroll through Forums whenever you want and have time for that.

  11. (Aww what a cute and good looking doggy!) Welcome to the forums 'Separator' (for some reason it sparks an idea of a person that just goes around breaking couples up, but I hope that's not your thing :D)!

Introduction threads serve a purpose of everyone having something to start from I suppose, if you don't have a super-idea for a thread right away. :) In addition to just being a place where people can check what other people have told about themselves. Also it's funny if you find an old introduction that you've done, you'll notice that you might emphasize totally different facts about yourself.

    ANYWAY, I digress. WELCOME! :)

  12. We've been kinda going back and forth with bf, whether using staff 3 is useful or not. I don't think it's at least a big damage loss if you actually have multiple targets that it hits, but if it only hits one, I think the auto-attack is more worth it. Sadly we don't have a full-proof way to know, but I think you can go either way. ^^ And yes you can indeed switch 2 earrings to Assassin, however if you get Spotter from Druid, banners from Warriors, Signet of Fire (utility) and a food-buff that gives Precision, you don't need them.
