  5. In DV, we send out a monthly in-game newsletter in the first week of every month to inform our members of various important guild / community events and activities.

In order to send out the newsletter as efficiently as possible, we ask members to volunteer to help us send these mails out.

    How does it work?

Once the mails are ready, each volunteer is assigned 20 names to mail (the mail contents are also provided for copy-pasting). That usually takes 15-20 minutes, as one has to wait 45-60 seconds between each mail to avoid getting suppressed.

We usually try to mail everyone in the span 3-5 of days. After everyone's mailed, volunteers get an activity rankup, and if they did more than they were assigned, volunteers can also earn raffle tickets!

How do I volunteer to help?

You can join the DV Discord Server, and contact Lelling or Slaywright by clicking on either of our names in the welcome channel. Simply message either one of us that you'd like to help out with the mails.

If you have any questions, you can also contact us (Lelling.6795 or Slaywright.4807) in-game.

    Thanks for reading :happysylvaritest:

  6. Hey everyone!

Even in Guild Wars 2, you can sometimes encounter some bad apples - but there are many ways to prevent them from spoiling the bunch! So what can you do if you ever find yourself in a situation where another player is being toxic and is trying to make the whole thing unfun for everyone else?

There are 3 easy steps you can take to deal with most trolls, and we've added two extra for those particularly pesky ones!

    Basic Steps:

    1. Do not engage them
    2. Block them
    3. Report them

    Extra Steps:

    1. Contact an OC Commander, Moderator, or Staff Member
    2. Open a GW2 Support Ticket

Step #1 - Do not engage them

What is the one thing trolls want? Attention. They want to know they've made you uncomfortable, angry, or frustrated. Whenever possible, simply ignoring them is usually the best way of getting rid of them. In fact, pretty much any online guide on dealing with trolls will tell you this as the first point, so whenever possible, simply don't engage, ignore them, and move on with your day.

    ~

    Step #2 - Block them

Guild Wars 2 has a very nifty block feature, which you can use to permanently disable trolls that focus on verbal harassment. Blocking a person means they cannot private-message you or send you mails. For most trolls, this is usually end of the line.

    trollblock.png

To block someone, simply right click on them in the chatlog or select them and right click on their portrait, and select the "Block" option.

    ~

    Step #3 - Report them

Guild Wars 2 also has an in-game report feature for verbal harassment. If you experience any such thing, you can file a report easily. When harassment like this happens in a public space like map chat or say chat, multiple reports go a long way, so always remember to send in the complaint.

    trollreport.png

To report someone, first right click on them in the chatlog or select them and right click on their portrait, and select the "Report" option, then select the appropriate report option from the Player Conduct Report popup.

There are many different report options, however you'll most commonly experience "Verbal Abuse" when dealing with trolls.

The other report options are useful in other situations, though, so it's good to know them.

Warning: Never file bogus complaints. ArenaNet inspects chat logs, and false complaints could get you in trouble rather than the troll.

    ~

Step #4 - Contact an OpenCommunity commander, Moderator, Community Manager or Admin

If this is happening in-game during an OC event, always make sure that the commander commanding is made aware of the issue.

If this is happening via any OC platform (our Teamspeak server, Discord or website), notify the commander or a Moderator, Community Manager or Admin.

We do not have access to chatlogs, so always remember to take screenshots!

At the very least, doing this means we can put the person on our watchlist, ensuring all our Community guilds are aware of them!

    ~

Step #5 - Open a support ticket with ArenaNet

If the nature of the trolling is more complex than straightforward verbal harassment, consider opening a support ticket. This is particularly useful in cases of long-term or repeated harassment!

To submit a ticket to support, go to help.guildwars2.com, log in, and click on "SUBMIT A TICKET". Choose the "In-Game Issue" option and fill in the relevant information.

If this is affecting an entire OC event, you can also contact the commander who was commanding and forward them things like offender names and screenshots so that they can add them to their ticket.

  7. Hello & welcome to the community! :D

Hmmm, as far as any advice for what to use as your "main", it really depends on your personal preferences :P I know that Tempest Elementalists have been used in the past for both support and offensive roles, so maybe that would be one you'd be interested in :D

  8. After some cooking-based discussions, we decided to make a thread where we can share our various bakes & recipes with each other, as well as discuss different food-related ideas. We come from such different cultures & backgrounds and we had a lot of people interested in each other's foods - so feel free to share recipes, pics, etc. here ?

  9. Hi everyone!

So last week, as part of Community Week we held a screenshot contest with a 48-hour window for each screenshot, but due to events happening all the time, a lot of our members didn't have the time to go and take the screenshots they needed.

So, we decided to extend the time available for participation and reopened all 8 threads! Members will now have one week to enter the contest! Everyone who entered in time will also get a small extra reward.

    Here's how the contest works:

Find the location and recreate not only the screenshot, but also whatever the persons in it are doing! The best / most creative approximation wins!

    • The challenge locations are a mixed bag of Core Tyria, Heart of Thorns and Path of Fire locations
    • The locations are accessible by running, jumping or gliding (no leaps, Griffon mounts or other tricks required)
    • Cheap tonics or bundle items that can be obtained through the trading post or from vendors in the world were used in some of the screenshots
    • Character race / class matching is not a requirement, a 100% match can score you points, but original solutions will also be rewarded!

Each of the 8 challenges is named after a an event / theme of the day it was opened on, but the screenshots themselves were not taken on the day, so you can participate even if you didn't attend the events!

Here are the links to the challenges and their prizes:

The challenges will remain open for a week - until the end of October 31st!

    Good luck!

  10. Hi & welcome! :D

If by RPS you mean Rock Paper Signet, I believe I used to run a TT guild spawn event for them for a while with the backup of one of our current community guilds a few years ago :D. Good folks, sad to hear they're not as active as they used to be.

Either way - welcome to the community, make yourself at home :D
